Historic first: Bighorns Women’s Soccer announces local players for inaugural season

MOHAVE COUNTY – Mohave Community College Head Women’s Soccer Coach Cynthia Cervantes has announced the local lineup for the team’s inaugural season in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). Bullhead City, Lake Havasu City and Kingman will all be represented on the pitch when the season starts in August 2024. The first-ever Bighorns women’s squad now has signed commitments from Yadhira Robles, Dayanara Barajas and Yazmin Contreras of Mohave High School in Bullhead City; Kadyn Mortenson of Lake Havasu High School; and Daniela Cardenas of Kingman High School. LAKE HAVASU CITY – A chaplain, a fisherman and a construction worker are among the half dozen men recently snared in a prostitution-focused undercover sting operation conducted by Lake Havasu City police. Reports released Nov. 15 reveal that men allegedly seeking sex services were arrested after responding to a motel room where officers were waiting on Nov. 3 and 4. “Detectives from the special investigations unit and criminal investigations unit placed an advertisement on a website known for soliciting prostitution to see if any subjects would contact undercover detectives in an attempt to exchange money for sexual acts,” police reports…

Dear Editor, Many years ago I took out a second mortgage on my home. The house had grown in value and had at least $30,000 of equity. At that time, I had multiple reasons.   The second mortgage added a second monthly payment to my already very tight budget. I made both the original payment and the second mortgage payment for a couple years until I was able to refinance both loans into a ten-year fixed interest rate loan.
