The Cornerstone Mission Thrift Store has recently been renovated inside and out. Having the staff and volunteers close in the process every step of the way made a big difference in moving the project along. Officer Osborne began his career in law enforcement in Southern California in 1981 and joined the Bullhead City Police Department in 1986, after a short time with the Parker Police Department. MCC Nursing program ranked one of best in America

The Mohave Community College Registered Nursing program is one of the best in the country, according to new rankings compiled by the website RNCareers.org. “We rigorously evaluated 1,892 RN programs across the country on a number of factors important to nursing students,” said RNCareers.org representative and Registered Nurse Laura Jacobson. “We are pleased to announce that Mohave Community College is one of the best nursing schools in the nation with a grade of 94.28%.” Out of more than two dozen nursing programs in Arizona, the site ranks MCC among the top three. WAHS may oversee shelter if conditions are met

A recent decision to transition the Western Arizona Humane Society (WAHS)-managed Kingman animal shelter to an in-house Mohave county operation will be revisited during Monday’s Board of Supervisors meeting. The reconsideration is prompted by new input from WAHS, which previously indicated it did not wish to continue running the shelter once its contract expires at the end of this month. WAHS Executive Director Patty Gilmore sent Board Chairman Hildy Angius and county manager Mike Hendrix a June 10 email indicating that the organization is interested in continuing to oversee the shelter, provided certain conditions are met. Trial set for couple charged in infant’s death

A Lake Havasu City man charged in the death of his own baby appeared at a Monday status hearing at the Mohave County Courthouse in Kingman. While the proceeding was largely uneventful, Judge Billy Sipe made it clear that he expects attorneys to be ready for trial on November 5. Deputy county attorney Kellen Marlow appeared on behalf of Megan McCoy, the prosecutor who will try Andrew Lamorie, 23, and Brittany Rodriquez, 26, at the same time.
