Milks plea deal pending court determination

A more lenient plea agreement is offered for one of three alleged Body Armor Bandits after the judge handling the case rejected a deal for a co-defendant because it capped prison time at 28 years. Following his June 6 nix of the plea deal for Francis Allison, 59, attorneys offered Judge Billy Sipe another plea proposal Wednesday mandating a 15-year prison sentence for co-defendant Preston Milks, 26, Kingman. Prosecutor Rod Albright contends that Milks was the least culpable of the trio who allegedly targeted businesses and residences in the Kingman area and beyond during an armed robbery spree last year….

Changes coming to Kingman EZ Recycling Program

Starting the week of June 24, the green recycling bins located around the city will be removed, centralizing recycling drop off to one location: Kingman Public Works, 3700 East Andy Devine Avenue. Beginning July 1, the new drop off hours will be: 7a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7 a.m. to noon Saturday and Sunday. Constant load contamination has caused the city to make these changes to the Kingman EZ Recycling program. Manuel Esparza Garza, of Kingman, died Thursday, June 13, 2019. He was 77. Mr. Garza was born June 7, 1942 in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. A service will be held Tuesday, June 18 at Resthaven Cemetery, 4310 E. Southern Ave., in Phoenix, with interment following. The family contact is Mr. Garza’s daughter Leticia Gaspar. Richardson found guilty of manslaughter; faces up to 10.5 years

A Mohave County Superior Court jury has convicted a Golden Valley man in the shooting death of a Kingman woman. The panel deliberated a little more than five hours Thursday before convicting Gerald Richardson, 57, of manslaughter. There was no dispute that Richardson killed 31-year-old Jessica Orozco on October 27, 2018 but his attorney said he was acting in self defense and that the shooting was justified.
