Moore receives 20 years for molesting young girl

A local judge has imposed a 20-year prison term for a New Mexico man convicted of fondling a young girl on an Amtrak train. Jeffery Moore, 43, was sentenced July 17 by Mohave County Superior Court Judge Rick Lambert. A trial jury found Moore guilty of child molestation. Deputy county attorney Jacob Cote said the offense occurred in June, 2016. Cote said the 11 year old victim had played in a volleyball tournament in California and was returning to Arizona with her team when she was groped in east Mohave County. Canchola takes another plea deal

A Lake Havasu City woman has entered a second plea agreement involving violent domestic disturbances at her residence this year. Nancy Canchola, 39, pleaded guilty July 18 to aggravated assault. Prosecutor Jonathan Robinson told the Court that a May 16 argument turned violent after Canchola asked her roommate for her cell phone in their residence in the 1200 block of Anacapa Drive. Robinson said Canchola pressed the 29-year-old victim up against a wall, choking her with one hand while taking control of the phone with the other. Kingman MVD office closed for the week of July 29 – August 2

Staff training in advance of new computer system The Arizona Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Division office in Kingman will be closed for one week between Monday, July 29 and Friday, August 2. During this time, MVD personnel will be undergoing training on a new state-of-the-art internal customer service computer system that will be installed throughout MVD later this year, replacing the existing outdated platform.
