Quail Ridge fire update

LAKE HAVASU CITY – Shortly after noon yesterday Oct. 24, a vegetation fire was reported in the area near Mesquite Bay Fishing Pier (just north of Palo Verde N). The strong winds quickly drove a surface fire to the south along the water’s edge, producing heavy smoke in the area. The fire department established structure protection in the Quail Ridge development and allowed the fire to progress with the wind. LHCPD awarded Governor’s Office of Highway Safety Grant

The Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS) awarded the Lake Havasu City Police Department a grant of $30,178 to be used to conduct increased traffic enforcement and to purchase radar tracking equipment. The S.T.E.P. (Selective Traffic Enforcement Program) grant provides the Lake Havasu City Police Department the funds needed to increase traffic enforcement capabilities by assigning personnel on overtime to concentrate on speed enforcement activities.
