I-40 bust nets 89 pounds of meth

Four adults from Georgia were arrested when authorities reportedly confiscated almost 90 pounds of methamphetamine during a Kingman traffic stop Thursday. The Mohave County Sheriff’s office (MCSO) reports the seizure was the result of an interdiction law enforcement operation involving the MAGNET drug task force and others. MCSO spokeswoman Anita Mortensen said the vehicle was stopped on Interstate 40 at about 5:30 p.m. She said a search was conducted when an Arizona DPS canine that was brought to the scene alerted on the illegal cargo. “Numerous bundles totaling 89 pounds of methamphetamine was located,” Mortensen said. “The amount of illegal…

Havasu man charged in shooting incident

LAKE HAVASU CITY – On September 13, at approximately 3:15 a.m. Lake Havasu City Police (LHCPD) officers responded to the 2100 block of Injo Drive for a report of a shooting. Deputies located the victim, 22-year old Yucaipa, California resident, inside the residence with a single gunshot wound to the abdomen. According to a LHCPD spokesperson, the shooter was identified as possibly being  21-year old Lake Havasu City resident Garrett Wilder. Comment period begins Sept. 18; public hearing to be held on Oct. 16 PHOENIX – The Arizona Department of Transportation will open an additional comment period for the revised 2021-2025 Tentative Five-Year Transportation Facilities Construction Program on Friday, Sept. 18. BULLHEAD CITY – A Bullhead City man’s request for probation and a chance to live drug free was rejected by another judge who instead sent him to the Arizona Department of Corrections. Bermuda water looking for 24% rate increase for south BHC residents

BULLHEAD CITY – The Bullhead City Council has approved municipal intervention in the Bermuda Water company rate case pending before the Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC) in Phoenix. The city will seek standing in the matter scheduled for formal hearing early next year. “They have proposed a 24% increase for south Bullhead City residents and those outside the city limits,” city manager Toby Cotter said late last month.
