One deceased following domestic violence

MOHAVE VALLEY – The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office  (MCSO) is investigating a shooting death in Mohave Valley. Deputies responding at 10:53 a.m. Sunday, March 3 located Joshua Carlos Perea, 39, Mohave Valley, dead at the scene at a residence in the 8700 block of Desoto Dr. “The investigation revealed that Perea had been shot by his girlfriend after a verbal and physical domestic violence incident,” said MCSO spokeswoman Anita Mortensen. “Detectives located and collected the handgun and several witness statements to include speaking with the other involved party.” No further details were provided.

BHC man charged with multiple sex assaults

BULLHEAD CITY – An elderly Bullhead City man faces an array of sex offenses following his weekend arrest. Raymond Medrano is charged with continual sexual abuse of a child, sexual conduct with a minor, molestation of a child, attempted sexual assault, public sexual indecency to a minor and sexual abuse. “On Saturday, March 2, Medrano was brought to the police station by a relative after learning of inappropriate and sexual acts against two minor family members,” said police spokeswoman Emily Fromelt. ?“The sexual offenses occurred over a period of approximately six months on multiple occasions in Bullhead City.” Medrano was arrested and…

House fire that left 5 children dead in Arizona doesn’t appear to be arson, authorities say

BULLHEAD CITY, Ariz. (AP) — There is no evidence an Arizona house fire that killed five children was caused by arson, authorities said Wednesday. Investigators with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives found no trace of accelerants on debris samples taken from the December blaze, Bullhead City Police said in a news release.
