Dear Editor, Summer officially begins this weekend and most of us love summer.  Millions of Americans will enjoy having a weekend free from work next weekend. KINGMAN – Poor communication, escalating cost, uncertainty and additional delay were all on display as the Kingman City Council clumsily addressed new revelations regarding the Interstate 40 Rancho Santa Fe Traffic Interchange (TI) during a near five hour long Tuesday meeting. Vice Mayor Cherish Sammeli was bewildered that the city has only recently learned that it will cost several million dollars more to have the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) administer the project. LAKE HAVASU CITY – The 2024 election is not until November 4 but members of the Mohave County GOP already have decided who they want in office. The club openly shared their choices with the community at the Trump Train Cruise-In last weekend. Their America First Trump Train Cruise-In took place on Saturday May 18 at 5:30 p.m. at SARA Park. Plea withdrawn, prison ordered for Havasu man

LAKE HAVASU CITY – A Lake Havasu City man offered a new wrinkle to his request to withdraw from his guilty plea in a child pornography case before he was sentenced to prison Tuesday, May 21. Casey Cassidy, 30, pleaded guilty to two of the charges while six other sexual exploitation of a minor counts were dismissed during an April 4 hearing. LAKE HAVASU CITY – The International Order of the Rainbow for Girls in Arizona is empowering the young women of the Lake Havasu community.  Last week, the nonprofit group hosted a charitable Bunco Fundraiser.  The event took place on Monday May 13th at 6pm at the Aquatic Center.The history of this youth service organization dates all the way back to 1922 with Reverend W. Wildlife Mitigation grant allocated for Hualapai Mountain area

KINGMAN – A $3.7-million Community Wildfire Defense grant is being allocated for wildfire mitigation at Pine Lake, a heavily-wooded community in the Hualapai Mountains southeast of Kingman. The money from the USDA Forest Service flows to the town through the Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management (DFFM). “The grants provide financial assistance to at-risk communities to protect their residents from catastrophic wildfire through the development and implementation of Community Wildfire Protection Plans (CWPP),” a news release said. ?“These master plans must be designed to provide for wildfire risk reduction, build fire adapted communities, prioritize hazardous fuels reduction work, and…
