Projects to be heard at BOS meeting FT. MOHAVE – The first was rejected and the second was approved when rival Fort Mohave solar power project proposals were heard during Wednesday’s Mohave County Planning and Zoning Commission meeting. BULLHEAD CITY  – The Bullhead Fire Department (BHCFD) was recently chosen as a grant recipient of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). This grant is a federally funded program that allows selected applicants to obtain funds to address a wide variety of community needs. In order to be successful, the public’s assistance is needed. During March, if you live near/around District Six (2025 Clearwater Dr.), BHCFD crews and CERT team members will be out conducting a special survey required by the State of Arizona. Kingman Route 66 Rotary Club’s March 6 speaker, Mayor Jen Miles (shown with club president Karen Brown), addressed the club on the state of the city. The Home Rule option has been approved every 4 years by voters since 1988. When it expires in 2023 staff recommends replacing it with a Permanent Base Adjustment. Miles noted the Rancho Santa Fe Interchange looks good and is expected to go to executive session in April with hopes of breaking ground by the end of the year. KINGMAN – Pioneer Country Events will be hosting a Gun & Knife, Coins & Collectibles Show on Saturday and Sunday, March 14 and 15 at Mohave County Fairgrounds, 2600 Fairgrounds Blvd. Hours are Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Food vendors will be on site. KINGMAN – Saturday, March 7, The Kingman Powerhouse Kiwanis hosted its scholarship dinner at the Club for Youth from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. This St. Patrick’s Day Celebration helped to raise money to support scholarships for graduating seniors at $20 a ticket, along with a silent auction and a 50/50 raffle.
