Meth dealer gets five years

KINGMAN – Kingman women charged in unrelated drug cases made separate appearances in Mohave County Superior Court Tuesday, Nov. 10. Mohave County Superior Court Judge Doug Camacho ordered a five-year prison sentence for Amber Copsey, 25. Copsey was credited for the 409 days she has been in custody awaiting trial. Copsey occupied a vehicle from which officers seized about 12 ounces of methamphetamine following a Sept. 27, 2019 traffic stop in the 3400 block of Stockton Hill Road. “That is an enormous amount of methamphetamine to dump into our community,” Judge Lambert said. Kingman Airport: Hays alleges fund diversion

KINGMAN – Carl Hays has alleged illegal diversion of Kingman Airport revenue as he resigned his position as member and Chairman of the Kingman Airport Advisory Commission. Hays’ Oct. 28 resignation letter came after he previously sided with exiting Airport Manager Steve Johnston while criticizing management and leadership at City Hall. City manager Ron Foggin fired back last month claiming that Hays was overstepping his advisory role as a commissioner and improperly involving himself in airport operations. BULLHEAD CITY – A Mexican national was arrested after traffic and foot pursuit activity with police in Bullhead City resulted in the injury of civilians. Bullhead City police department spokeswoman Emily Fromelt said an officer used his lights and siren to warn the operator of a speeding SUV to slow down at 12:15 p.m. Monday in the area of highway 95 and Meadows Drive. Dear Editor, On Nov. 2, I called our local fire station in Valle Vista, which is operated by Northern Arizona Consolidated Fire District (NACFD). I asked about pit fires due to the high fire alert and fire hazards due to dry vegetation. Barricaded man dies from self-inflicted gunshot

KINGMAN – Kingman police have released more details of a barricaded subject ordeal that ended in a civilian suicide on Friday, Nov. 6. Police department spokeswoman Jennifer Sochocki said it was determined that Earl Hendrix, 37, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Sochocki said offers responded at 10:35 a.m. to a domestic violence incident in the 2000 block of Simms Avenue.
