Art Trail features 60+ artists

LAKE HAVASU CITY – The Lake Havasu community will once again welcome the Havasu Art Trail this weekend. This will be the fourth annual occasion celebrating local artists.

The Havasu Art Trail is a nonprofit club dedicated to showcasing the local artists of Lake Havasu. The organization thrives on offering resources to the public to reach the gifted creators of art year-round.

The art nonprofit consists of three directors and volunteers who are passionate about art and willing to give their time without compensation.

Two of the many artists who will be displaying their work will be husband and wife team Ellen and Jim Wright.

For the past two years, the couple are proud owners of Olive Lane Glass, a store that sells custom Fused Glass art. Originally from Ventura, California, the duo got their start in the craft at a local glass art store. The experience sparked interest in attending glass art trade shows in Las Vegas.

Coincidently a neighbor of the couple shared information about glass art classes in Santa Barbara. The Wrights attended classes for two years. Today the couple continues to go the Vegas trade shows each year to purchase equipment to create additional beautiful pieces. The artists enjoy playing with different methods to create unique designs.

Photographer John West will be featured in this year’s art trail event as well. As a volunteer with Bill Williams River and Havasu National Wildlife Refuges, his Northern Pintail Photo is used as the logo for the wildlife nonprofit. Locally, West was artist of the month for the John Wesley Powell Museum in Page Arizona and his work has also been used in River Scene Magazine.

In 2023, his work was also published in Wooden Boats Magazine.

Another fellow artist participating this year’s event is painter is Beth Ward who finds inspiration from students in her current art classes taught by an independent instructor. Ward enjoys painting beautiful scenes of nature such as oceans, wildlife, and especially landscapes.

One of the most intriguing perks of attending the art trail is that it gives the participating artists a chance to sell their creations at 25 locations. The artists will also be sharing their creative process through studio tours, interactive activities, and demonstrations.

A free drawing will be available to win unique donated art additionally, the more locations you visit, the more entries you can enter. This event is free public and will feature over 60 of Lake Havasu’s most talented artists.

Free maps are now available of the trail by visiting  Home – Havasu Art Trail. You can also pick up hard copies of the maps at a few of Havasu’s local businesses such as Our Place Boutique, The Q Art Gallery, and the Havasu Art Center.

The Havasu Art Trail will be on Saturday, February 22 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, February 23 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at multiple venues around Lake Havasu City. This weekend will be a great opportunity to meet many of Lake Havasu’s most imaginative artists and take in the magic of all their crafts.
