In Loving Memory of Alice Walker

1942 – 2025

Alice Lee Walker of Kingman, Arizona, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a world forever touched by her warmth, grace, and boundless love. She was a woman of extraordinary depth—adored by her family, cherished by her friends, and admired by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Born in 1942 to Dorothy Margareta Macher, a Hollywood actress, and Alvin Lopau Milfs, a proud WWII veteran, Alice’s story began in the Hollywood Hills of Los Angeles. She grew up beneath the glow of the Hollywood lights, but her true radiance came from within. She carried with her a deep sense of kindness, resilience, bravery, and a quiet wisdom that enriched every life she encountered.

Alice was the heart of her family. She shared a beautiful, enduring love with her devoted partner, Jerry Miranda, whose unwavering care and companionship were her greatest comfort. She was a proud and loving mother to her two sons—Michael Greene of Ohio and Steven Greene of San Francisco—who will forever be guided by her gentle strength and the lessons she instilled in them.

Her life was also graced by the presence of her dear friend, Tina Salazar, a source of laughter, understanding, and unwavering warmth. Together, they shared years of deep friendship, stories, and an unbreakable bond.

Though Alice’s journey has come to an end, her love will remain—a quiet force in the lives of those she leaves behind. She taught us the meaning of compassion, the beauty of determination, the bravery of a lion, and the importance of holding our loved ones close. Her legacy is not one of grand gestures, but of the countless moments of kindness, wisdom, and joy she shared with those fortunate enough to know her.

Alice’s spirit now soars beyond this world, reunited with those she loved who passed before her. And though we grieve her absence, we take solace in knowing that she will forever live on in our hearts, in the stories we tell, and in the love we continue to share.

A celebration of her life will be held on February 17th at 2pm at Northern Lights, 2170 Northern Avenue, Kingman, Arizona. In lieu of flowers, please honor Alice by making a donation to the Friends of Mohave County Animal Shelter.

Rest gently, dear Alice. You were loved beyond words, and you will be missed beyond measure.
