Any age can have fun at Mud Mania

KINGMAN – Kingman’s 46th Annual Mud Mania took place on Thursday, July 11 at Firefighter Memorial Park as a messy summer celebration welcoming everyone to their in-ground, obstacle course. This event held by the City of Kingman Parks and Recreation is completely free to the community. Children as young as four years old and adults of any age could participate. Food trucks and snow cone booths were open to the public. Everything earned from Mud Mania circulates back to the general fund for Parks and Recreation events.

Two people from each age division receive a trophy as the champions of the best time. The most notable times of this year’s Mud Mania were Daniel Skyes of the 15-17-year-old division with a time of 16.84 seconds; Rem Ruebush of the 15-17-year-old division with a time of 18.01 seconds; and Jay Saltos of the 12-14-year-old division with a time of 19.15 seconds.

Mud Mania is the “one day kids can play in the mud and not get in trouble,” says Kingman Parks & Recreation Superintendent Yvonne Cossio.
