U.S. Acting Secretary of Labor Julie A. Su recognized ALLO as one of the 859 recipients of the 2023 Hire Vets Medallion Award during a virtual award ceremony presented by the U.S. Department of Labor held on November 8th. ALLO earned the large company 2023 Platinum Hire Vets Medallion award. This is the fourth year ALLO has been recognized with the Hire Vets Medallion Award, but it is the first year ALLO has been recognized at the highest award level, Platinum. The Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing American Military Veterans Act (Hire Vets Act) Medallion Program is the only federal award program recognizing employers who successfully recruit, hire, and retain veterans. “It is an honor to have been recognized by the Department of Labor Hire Vets Medallion award again this year. We are particularly proud of earning the Platinum award for the first time. ALLO leaders recognize our Guard, Reserve, and Veteran teammates have a meaningful impact on helping us successfully serve our communities,” said Todd Heyne, ALLO Chief Construction Officer and Navy veteran. “ALLO continues to grow, and we have additional career opportunities with that growth. For the past five years, ALLO’s percentage of veterans in the company has grown year over year. The veterans we hire have the attitude, motivation, and skills to get the job done.” ALLO joins 858 other companies from 49 states, plus the District of Columbia, who are committed to hiring veterans and ensuring they have a long-term career and growth plan that uses the diverse skills they acquired through their military service. ALLO is the only large company Platinum award winner in Nebraska. Recipients of the 2023 Hire Vets Medallion Award meet rigorous employment and veteran integration assistance criteria, including veteran hiring and retention percentages, availability of veteran-specific resources, leadership programming for veterans, dedicated human resource efforts, pay compensation, and tuition assistance programs for veterans. ALLO has benefit programs to support veterans transitioning to the workforce and active Guard and Reserve members, including a Military Leave Benefit. ALLO also offers a Skillbridge internship program for active-duty service members who are about to end their service and a pay differential benefit where ALLO will pay a deployed team member the difference between their ALLO salary and military pay to ensure the same income during their deployment.
