ADOT prepares snowplows in advance of season’s winter weather

FLAGSTAFF – The Arizona Department of Transportation’s statewide fleet of snowplows is ready to roll wherever and whenever needed now that crews have completed the annual process of equipping the vehicles with what’s needed to clear snow and ice from state highways. Many of ADOT’s 200 snowplow vehicles are used for other important work, primarily as dump trucks, during our warmer weather. By late summer, crews begin to install the large plow blades and other equipment so those trucks are once again prepared as large, powerful snowplows. LAKE HAVASU CITY — The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Lake Havasu Field Office is seeking public input on an environmental assessment analyzing a Programmatic Vegetation Management Plan. The purpose of the plan is to maintain and improve ecological conditions in vegetation communities on public lands within the field office area by using an integrated treatment approach. Treatments would improve biological diversity and ecosystem functionalities, preserve public access and address high risk fuel areas.   This plan would allow BLM personnel to use integrated treatment methods including manual, mechanical, prescribed fire, and chemical treatments. The Biden-Harris administration has announced next steps in the formal process to develop future operating guidelines and strategies to protect the stability and sustainability of the Colorado River system and strengthen water security in the West.
