Summer Reading Program starts this weekend in Kingman

The following summer reading programs will be offered at the Mohave County Library Kingman branch, beginning Saturday, May 25. Summer Reading Kickoff for ages five to 12 Saturday, May 25, 11:00 a.m. Children ages five to 12 and their families. Drop in anytime between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. and help to celebrate the launch of Summer Reading.  Storytime for ages 0 to four Wednesdays, May 29 through July 10, 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.  Children ages 0-4 and their caregivers. AZ Claus Cause hosts Hot Rod Run, 5K

The AZ Claus Cause is finalizing the details for their annual memorial weekend car show to be held Saturday, May 25 at Mohave Community College (MCC) in Kingman. This year it includes the Hot Rod Run, 5K run/walk. The Lake Havasu City Fire Department is happy to recognize the men and women who deliver pre-hospital emergency care to the community and invite the community to join in sharing thanks. Registration has started for the Cornhole Under the Stars Tournament, which will take place on Friday, May 24, under the large ramada at Rotary Park in Bullhead City. Gerlach honored as Citizen of the Month

Honored as May Citizen of the Month at Kingman Route 66 Rotary Club’s May 17 meeting was Tim Gerlach (shown with Rotarian Susan Williams, Gerlach’s wife Wendy, daughter Dakotah and niece Sadi). Gerlach is president of the Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 765 in Kingman which sponsors The Young Eagles. This year they’ve completed two Young Eagles Flight Rallies with a third planned and have hosted a Flight Safety Seminar in cooperation with the FAA and the USMC. Now being organized is the 2019 Kingman Air Fest, fly-in and Open House scheduled for October 19.
