A well-known local woman who with a long history of involvement in civic groups has agreed to serve as the new President and Chief Executive Officer of the Kingman Area Chamber of Commerce. Man accused of stealing $170,000 cash in a suitcase from Walmart His comments at a settlement conference provide hints of the possible legal defense for the Kingman man accused of stealing a suitcase full of cash he found unattended at the local Walmart last summer. None injured in residential fire

No one was hurt in a residential structure fire in Bullhead City early Tuesday, April 23. Fire department personnel responded at 1:00 a.m. to the incident in the 900 block of Sea Spray Drive. Public information officer Lori Viles said arriving firefighters discovered an unoccupied mobile home and a detached shed fully involved in flame. “Crews quickly began an aggressive fire attack pulling multiple supply lines,” a news release stated. “Engine 761’s crew made entry into the back bedroom, bathroom, and hallway obtaining a primary all clear.” The structures were destroyed and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

Multiple local, state, and federal public safety agencies are partnering with the Hualapai Mountain Lodge to host the second annual Hualapai Mountain Wildfire Safety Fair on Saturday, May 4, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., at the Hualapai Mountain Resort, 4525 Hualapai Mountain Road, Kingman.
