And the Russians are laughing

Dear Editor,

Many years ago in Washington, D.C., far, far away, a president was elected in the land. Some of the people rejoiced, others said, nay! They were up in arms. “We shall insist he be impeached he was not born in the United States, but Kenya.” They also questioned his immigration policies, Libya, and Benghazi. Their fearless leader in the Senate vowed to make him a one-term president. Meanwhile the Russians sat back and laughed, their plan was working.

Today, talk of impeachment engulfs our president, and again the Russians laugh. Their plan is still working, even better than they had imagined.

Look ahead into the future, where a candidate can ask for help from a foreign entity to get elected, or a sitting president can refuse to allow his cabinet to testify at any inquisition that might implicate him in wrongdoing. Precedence has already been set in prior administrations, with no consequence suffered.

What goes around comes around folks, and the Russians continue to laugh. Their plan continues to work.
