Meth, paraphernalia seized in Havasu traffic stop

arrest

LAKE HAVASU CITY, Ariz. – A drug investigation led to a traffic stop, seizure and arrest of a Lake Havasu City woman. The Lake Havasu City Police Department (LHCPD) said an investigation of alleged methamphetamine distribution prompted an Aug. 21 stop of a vehicle in the area of Highway 95 and Palo Verde Boulevard North.

“During the stop, LHCPD K-9 ‘Echo’ conducted an open-air sniff of the vehicle and alerted to the presence of narcotic odors,” said police sergeant Kyle Ridgway. “A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of 82.4 grams of methamphetamine in multiple small plastic bags along with a digital scale.”

Ridgway said the street value of the drugs is estimated at $4,120. Kellie Winnie, 54, is charged with possession of dangerous drugs for sale and possession of drug paraphernalia.
