KINGMAN, Ariz. – This weekend marks the final operating weekend for the City of Kingman’s Recycling Center following the City’s decision to discontinue operation of the recycling program.
The Recycling Center is located at the city’s Public Works Facility, 3700 East Andy Devine Avenue, next to the fuel island, and is available to City of Kingman and Mohave County residents. The facility will be open during its regular operating hours of Thursday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Residents wishing to recycle materials before the facility closes are encouraged to plan ahead and arrive during operating hours. The recycling fee is $7.50 per vehicle, per trip.
Accepted recyclable materials include:
* Cardboard (excluding wax-coated items such as milk cartons and disposable cups)
* Aluminum and tin cans
* All colors of glass (lids removed)
* Plastic Type 1 containers, including water and soda bottles (lids removed)
* Plastic Type 2 containers, including milk jugs and detergent bottles (lids removed)
Residents are encouraged to ensure recyclable materials are clean and properly sorted prior to arrival to help facilitate the recycling process.
