LAKE HAVASU CITY, Ariz. – The Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) has released the names of the victims, and the suspect who was arrested following a triple fatality traffic accident just south of Lake Havasu City last week. The suspected impairment-involved two vehicle collision on SR 95 occurred at 11:33 a.m. on Tuesday, June 16.
DPS spokesman Bart Graves said a Nissan Sentra was southbound when it crossed the center line of the highway, resulting in a head-on collision with an oncoming Ford Bronco.
One passenger in the Bronco was released following hospital treatment for minor injuries, but the other two occupants and driver of the vehicle were killed. They are identified as Yuma residents Faron Woods, 69, Robert Samac, 75, and Robert Wilson, 73, a British national.
“The driver and passenger in the Nissan were transported to Havasu Regional Medical Center,” Graves said. “The passenger was admitted for serious injuries.”
Graves said the driver, Joseph Santiago, 31, Las Vegas, was arrested after he was treated and released. He said Santiago was booked into the Adult Detention Facility for three counts of manslaughter, two counts of criminal damage, aggravated assault and driving under the influence.
