Craft Fair at Kathryn Heidenreich Adult Center

Crying Red Bear talks with a customer at the Craft Fair Saturday

KINGMAN –  Many beautifully handcrafted creations were displayed last Saturday at the Kathryn Heidenrich Adult Center Craft Fair. It was obviously, a passion of love for their hard work.

Dozens of vendors filled all three rooms at the senior center, exhibiting what they so proudly created; some were even outside in the parking lot, near the door. Each vendor displayed something very different and unique, like Crying Red Bear, a Mohegan or Woodland Cree.

He said he has been making beautiful Indian jewelry since he was 12 and said he’s willing to make custom jewelry for anyone.

Debora Essex, New Creations, makes purses of all sizes, shapes and colors for adults and for children with coin or money pouches inside.

Barbara Rickman, Desert Road Homestead, makes everything from apple cider, strawberry, mango and blueberry vinegar to cinnamon and ginger extracts. Her son, Chad, grows the herbs to make them.

Sharonna Wilson, owner, Brooklyn Rice & Soul, along with her husband Antoine, is getting her face painted by Monica Galicia from Joyful Henna and Face Paint

Arthur Wint, makes electric guitars, guitar amps and cigar boxes, that actually hold cigars, but look like small guitars. They are all uniquely one of a kind, superbly hand-crafted, and definitely conversation pieces. His “Boom Box” cigar box has Bluetooth and can play music from your phone or from a thumb drive; battery chargers are included.

Craft Fair organizer, Roseanne Rosenberg, said for the Craft Fair, vendors pay just $10 for a 6-foot table space. All the money, she said, goes directly to the center.

Ray Joiner, director of Kathryn Heidenreichp, said many businesses in Kingman rent the center for various occasions. He said he would like to bring more family-friendly entertainment to the center where people could come and have fun without worrying about someone with a gun or knife coming in and hurting them.

“We’re the only venue in Kingman,” Joiner said, “where you can come and enjoy a safe, alcohol-free, and smoke-free environment.”

Upcoming craft fairs to be held at the Kathryn Heidenreich center are 9 a.m.-3 p.m. June 13, July 11, and August 8. Anyone wishing to reserve a 6-foot space should do so one month in advance, according to organizer Roseann Rosenberg because space is limited. To schedule your space for the next Craft Fair, or for more information, call Ms. Rosenberg at 928-757-2778.
