LAKE HAVASU CITY – Lake Havasu City Aquatic Center transitions to its summer schedule beginning Monday, June 1, to better accommodate increased youth programming and support local swim opportunities during the summer months.
As part of the seasonal adjustment, lap swim at 7:00 a.m., Aqua Aerobics at 8:15 a.m. Monday/Wednesday/Friday, and Personal Exercise Time on Tuesday/Thursday are all paused for the summer season. However, the Aquatic Center continues offering Aqua Aerobics classes every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 9:30 a.m. However, the Aquatic Center continues offering Aqua Aerobics classes every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 9:30 a.m.
These temporary schedule adjustments allow the Stingray Swim Team to practice from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. during the summer months. In return, the Aquatic Center uses the Stingrays’ traditional evening practice hours to expand recreational programming and activities for local youth during summer break.
Lake Havasu City has followed a similar seasonal scheduling model since the Aquatic Center opened in 1994, balancing community recreation programs, swimming lessons, youth activities, and competitive swimming opportunities throughout the busy summer season.
“This seasonal shift helps us maximize pool availability for the entire community during one of our busiest times of year,” said Swan Cooke, Aquatics Supervisor. “By working together with the Stingray Swim Team, we can continue supporting youth recreation, local athletics, and community wellness while still maintaining popular fitness opportunities for our residents.”
Lake Havasu City appreciates the community’s flexibility and understanding as staff work to balance programming needs and pool access throughout the summer season.
