Man injured in grocery store parking lot shooting

KINGMAN – A shooting in the parking lot of a Kingman grocery store is under investigation. Deputy Kingman Police Chief Joel Freed said officers responded to Smith’s in the 3400 block of Stockton Hill Road at about 5:30 p.m. on April 24.

Freed said a 51-year-old Golden Valley man was transported to Kingman Regional Medical Center and flown to Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas for treatment of non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to both arms. Jermaine Boothe, 42, Kingman, was placed in custody and jailed for aggravated assault.

“Investigators learned that Boothe and the victim had arranged to meet at the location to have a physical fight,” Freed said. “Witnesses told investigators that a physical fight had occurred and that Boothe had pulled a handgun and fired several shots, two of which struck the victim.”
