LAKE HAVASU CITY – Great news for Medicare, Tricare, and VA CCN holders. Next month Hyr8AZ IVs and Med spa will be partnering up with The Shield Blood Test for free cancer screenings. Owner of the med spa practice Lisa Anderson, a retired military nurse with over 30 years experience in the medical field.
She also previously worked as a registered nurse at Havasu Regional Medical Center in the intensive care unit for COVID patients in 2020. It was there she witnessed that patients receiving vitamins were experiencing faster recovery rates than those who were not.
A few years later, Anderson opened Hyr8AZ which offers both mobile and spa services. The team provides health therapy to client’s homes, hotels, or offices. They also give plasma resurfaces, body sculpting, skin tightening, vitamin injections, and custom IV drips.
With this being the second year for screenings, Anderson can still remember the day she heard about the shield blood test. It was by a patient who came in for electrolytes, and through a casual conversation, she learned that the patient was a representative of the company and filled her in on their services.
With the spa’s mission to educate their patients as much as they can on keeping themselves healthy in their own homes, the former veteran jumped at the opportunity to have the free test at her own clinic. The screening is a multi-detection test where blood is drawn, and patients can receive their results within two to four weeks. Only patients with flagged results of cancer in their blood streams will be contacted.
Early detection leads to protective measures, as Anderson’s practice also aims to decrease emergency room visits within the community as much as possible. “The more people know, the more they can prepare for early treatments and prevent symptoms from advancing. When we did this last year for the first time, we had at least forty people show up,” Anderson said.
