BULLHEAD CITY – On Tuesday, February 10 at 4:39 p.m., a member was trimming a tree when a large tree limb fell onto a power line causing an outage for 898 members on the north side of Hancock Road, from Lakeside Drive to Riverfront Drive.
Mohave Electric Cooperative (MEC) crews confirmed there was no damage to the power line and then closed the circuit breaker at the substation, restoring power to all members at 5:07 p.m.
MEC wants to remind members, trees are a leading cause of power outages. Trimming trees near power lines is dangerous and you should never attempt it yourself. Electricity can jump from the power lines to your pruning tools and your body.
