Salvation Army LHC give free meals

LAKE HAVASU CITY – For many years, the Salvation Army has provided financial assistance, clothing, shelter, and food for poverty-stricken individuals and families. As a reminder for this holiday season, the Lake Havasu location provides free meals for the needy as well.

Working alongside Our Lady of the Lake’s soup kitchen, the historical nonprofit always has its doors open to provide this service. Service Center Coordinator Heather Crawford of nine years especially enjoys seeing individuals facing hardships getting the nourishment they need, as well as tuning into the narratives of the guests.

“It’s pleasant seeing people getting a nice warm meal and having that chance to have interactions with the visitors and hearing their personal stories,” Crawford said. Currently, the Lake Havasu Salvation Army is in need of Wednesday hot meal volunteer servers. Anyone interested can contact Heather Crawford directly at 928-302-4749.

Twice a week, sack lunches are distributed every Wednesday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Each Wednesday, the organization gives hot meals from 9 a.m. to noon. All meals are served at 2049 Swanson Ave.

Providing integrity, purpose, and a sense of belonging to the community, the Salvation Army has managed their devotion to the well-being of those less fortunate through their meal programs.
