Dear Editor,
Recently, I received an email inquiry from an employee of the Kingman Miner. She indicated that candidate for Kingman City Mayor, Mark Berry, announced he was endorsing Elliot Chalew for a Kingman City Council seat, along with candidate Charles Black, as sort of a team. She asked me to confirm if this was accurate.
Most folks in Kingman who have come to know me are familiar with the fact that I like the written word and often use idioms. My answer to that Kingman Miner employee is, “You Can Bet Your Life,” that statement is accurate.
More common in political venues is the word “slate” used when candidates collectively embrace a particular set of political views and way of governing.
Early on in the ensuing bet against the four seated incumbents, I would like to add a bit more dimension by saying that Mark Berry, Charles Black, and I have partnered politically and are in perfect alignment with a universal theme of “Power to the People,” that being the common man and woman of Kingman.
We, as partners, are in perfect harmony in sequencing and calibration of their wishes, truly understand their fears, and their immediate and long-term needs. As campaign partners, we clearly see and mutually embrace the long-term priority of rebuilding Kingman’s infrastructure from “Ground Zero Up” to support Kingman’s future economic development, both brick and mortar, but moreover, the human, individual, personal, and mortal needs of the people first. As a team, Berry, Black, and Chalew have a common platform to ensure that the people do not bear the economic burden of commercial and residential development, which belongs entirely to businesses and developers.
Mark Berry, Elliot Chalew, and Charles Black are the perfect Trifecta for balanced, controlled growth that is a win, win, win for the future success of Kingman and its people.
On election day 2026, we are asking the Kingman people to mark their score cards (ballots) decisively to vote out all incumbent losers who have never truly reached the finish line without a blemished photo finish.
It’s time to quit being jockeyed around, place your bet on Berry, Black, and Chalew, and cash out your bet at the Mutuel Teller.
Elliot Chalew
