KINGMAN — A 20-year prison term is mandated in a plea deal for a Chloride woman who conducted illegal transactions with undercover officers. Rosemary Gomez, 39, engaged in emotional communication with her lawyer before the November 5 change of plea hearing before judge Billy Sipe.

Gomez is convicted of sale of dangerous drugs and misconduct involving weapons.

Deputy Mohave County attorney Phillip Delgado said Gomez sold 1.5-ounces of methamphetamine to an agent in Chloride in March. He said Gomez was a prohibited possessor when she sold a firearm to another undercover officer in Kingman in September.

Six weapons offenses are dismissed in the deal, along with drug related charges. The agreement requires Gomez to forfeit seven firearms

Gomez is among 15 suspects rounded up in the multiple agency “Operation Mohave Typewriter” investigation focused on the trafficking of drugs and weapons.

The stipulated double-decade prison term will be ordered during a December 5 sentencing hearing.
