MOHAVE COUNTY — A Fort Mohave man became a twice convicted child sex offender during a May 28 change of plea hearing in Kingman. Christopher Wacks, 34, will be returning to the Arizona Department of Corrections under terms of the deal.
Wacks previously went to prison after pleading guilty in 2012 to luring a minor for sexual exploitation and attempted sexual exploitation of a minor. He was released from prison in 2018.
Bullhead City Police Department spokeswoman Emily Fromelt said the agency received information provided by the Internet Crimes Against Children organization involving the downloading of child pornography material. The activity in question was traced to a residence in Bullhead City where Wacks previously lived.
A January 22 search of Wacks’ Fort Mohave residence netted seizure of child sex abuse materials that prompted his indictment for ten counts of sexual exploitation of a miner. Deputy Mohave County Attorney Karolina Czaplinska said the materials involving minors who appeared to be under the age of ten were found in the defendant’s cell phone.
Wacks pleaded guilty to violating probation, two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor and three counts of attempted sexual exploitation of a minor. Czaplinska said he faces a 25-44 year prison term and implementation of lifetime probation at a June 17 sentencing hearing before Mohave County Superior Court Judge Derek Carlisle.
