LAKE HAVASU CITY – The pedestrians of Lake Havasu will now be getting more safety as eighteen solar powered flashing pedestrian crossing systems will be bought and placed at multiple crosswalks located in the downtown area.
The city approved a planned development rezone with a general development for the building of a rock climbing wall outdoors along with a mini golf course.
Code changes will heighten the entry for buys of $100,000 or higher and will need approval from City Council. Presently, purchases that are over $50,000 need to be authorized by council members.
Last week’s announcement of this was only the beginning, as finalizing the approval will take place at future meetings to solidify the change.
The name change is now official for what used to be called Querio Park in Havasu’s downtown thanks to public votes of the new name. Main Street Commons will be the updated name for the former park which will now be an event space for community activities. Final completion of this project is set to be finished before the annual Desert Storm festival coming up on April 23rd of this year.
