Kingman teacher jailed, fired

Allen Long

KINGMAN – Third grade teacher Allen Long was taken into custody at Cerbat Elementary School Tuesday as a result of an ongoing Mohave County Sheriff’s Office sex offense investigation.

Agency spokeswoman Anita Mortensen said the 28-year-old Meadview resident was taken into custody at about 10:00 before he was transported and booked into the Adult Detention Center for multiple charges of sexual exploitation of a minor.

Mortensen said the arrest follows discovery of images of child pornography in a device belonging to Long that was seized in Sept.

“To protect the integrity of the investigation, limited information is available at this time,” Mortensen said. “We ensure that a thorough investigation is being conducted and all evidence will be processed to identify any potential victims.”

Superintendent Gretchen Dorner said the Kingman Unified School District had terminated Long’s employment by Tuesday afternoon.
