Arizona DES leaves downtown Kingman; real estate to go up for sale

KINGMAN – A large parcel of property provides interesting development opportunity in downtown Kingman once it’s sold by the state of Arizona. The 1.5-acre parcel occupies about a half a block on Beale Street, between 5th and 6th streets.

It’s the site of a former grocery story that currently houses dozens of Department of Economic Security and Department of Child Services employees. They’ll be relocated once their new office is completed on Airway Avenue.

The cream colored Beale Street building totals 19,538 sq. ft. The property features two large parking lots.

Megan Rose, the Assistant Director for statewide communications for the Arizona Department of Administration (ADOA) said no timetable has yet been established for sale of the downtown property. That will be handled byJones Lang LaSalle (JLL), on contract with the ADOA for Statewide Commercial Real Estate Broker Services.

“ADOA will work with JLL to develop a marketing plan, which would include a marketing brochure, a commercial listing and thirty days’ notice in a newspaper of general circulation,” Rose said.

Sun State Builders of Phoenix will be constructing the new 40,000 sq. ft. office on an undeveloped 4.5-acre lot between Kenneth and Adams, on Airway. The city has approved the building permit and project completion is anticipated next February.
