City extends availability of sandbags for storm preparedness

BULLHEAD CITY – The City of Bullhead City is extending the window for community members to grab free sandbags to protect their property this monsoon season to Thursday, August 22.

“The City still has sand available,” said Bullhead City Manager Toby Cotter. “We’re going to keep providing the sand for a few more days in case anyone still needs any.”

The free sandbags are limited to ten per household and are available to all local households.

Sand remains available for pickup each day from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. until the end of Thursday, August 22, at Bullhead City’s Rotary Park, under the large Ramada just north of Firebird Field. Staff is on-site to assist each day.

“We hope everyone who needs it takes advantage of the assistance before the weather reports say it’s necessary,” said Cotter. “Our monsoonal weather can be unpredictable.”
