BLM seeks input on proposed lease for Havasu Riviera Marina

LAKE HAVASU CITY – The Bureau of Land Management is seeking comments on a proposal from Arizona State Parks & Trails (State Parks) to lease approximately 17 acres of public lands for operation and expansion of the Havasu Riviera Marina at Lake Havasu in Mohave County. The lease would allow for additional facilities, concessions, fuel stations, and a grocery store at the marina.

As a state agency, State Parks is eligible for a noncompetitive commercial lease under the Code of Federal Regulations (43 CFR 2920), which states authorizations will be issued only at fair market value and only for uses that conform with agency plans, policy, objectives, and resource management programs. Commercial leasing for developed, fee-based recreation is consistent with the BLM Lake Havasu Field Office Resource Management Plan (2007).

A Notice of Realty Action will publish in tomorrow’s Federal Register, initiating a 45-day public comment period and protecting these lands from being sold or subject to new mining claims for two years, subject to valid existing rights, while the BLM considers the proposal. Comments may be emailed to sburke@blm.gov (preferred) or delivered to Realty Specialist, Stacey Burke, BLM Arizona State Office, 1 N. Central Avenue, Suite 800, Phoenix, Arizona 85004. The comment period will close September 3, 2024

For more information, please contact Realty Specialist, Stacey Burke, at sburke@blm.gov (602) 417-9225.
