Dustin Childress

LAKE HAVASU CITY – A Lake Havasu City man allegedly shoved one victim from a moving vehicle before he punched and choked his former girlfriend last week. Lake Havasu City police said the incident occurred about 6:00 p.m. Thursday, June 20.

Suspect Dustin Childress, 30, reportedly provided his former girlfriend a ride the previous day.

A police report indicated Childress was driving along Acoma Boulevard at about 30 miles per hour when he pushed the unidentified male out of the of the vehicle near Castaway Drive. The man reportedly suffered road rash injuries and walked home where the woman and Childress were.

The woman told police Childress was angry that she had asked him to leave because of his fentanyl use. She said Childress allegedly punched her in the left eye and used his hands to strangle her.

The male was able to pull Childress off the woman he was strangling. Police said she had injuries consistent with being punched and choked.

Childress was arrested for two counts of aggravated assault, disorderly conduct and for criminal damage for kicking a hole in the stucco wall of the home.
