ANN LESCHNIK

Ann was born in 1938 in the small upstate town of New York, called Newburgh, near West Point on the Hudson River. Her mother—one of ten children in the Cavanaugh family—had little interest in raising the family. Her father went to war and when he returned, he soon deserted them.

Ann was the oldest so the matter of her brother and sister’s upbringing was left to her. Ann was also the smartest and she could help both her siblings with their schoolwork.  She worked in the kitchen of the hospital she was born in to help support them. Ann also worked for a period of time for the Air Force.

Ann and her husband Don were both born and bred in New York, but they met in Phoenix when she moved there from Colorado and Don had moved from Wyoming.  They met on St. Patrick’s Day and were married in Las Vegas. They have had a very happy time here in Kingman for the past 35 years. She lived as a housewife while Don worked as a pharmacist.  They were absolutely inseparable.

She is survived by her son Warren, her daughter Sharon, her sister Peggy, and her loving husband Don.

Visitation will be held on Monday, Aug. 30, from 5 to 7 pm, and her service will be on Tuesday, Aug. 31, at 10 am at the Sutton Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will be in Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn, NY.
