Woman allegedly torches uncle’s home

DOLAN SPRINGS – A woman torched her uncle’s home in Dolan Springs after he evicted her from the premises, according to the Mohave County Sheriff’s office. Spokeswoman Anita Mortensen said dispatch received multiple calls just before 6:00 a.m. Tuesday that a residential structure was burning in the 8400 block of W. Seventh St.

Mortensen said detectives began investigating due to suspicious circumstances. She said they learned that the homeowner evicted his niece from the property in early Nov.

Home surveillance system video reportedly provides evidence that the niece, Sabrina Lynn Nulsen, 29, set fire to the manufactured home.

“Sabrina is seen on video unlawfully entering the back door to the residence at approximately 5:39 a.m. At approximately 5:41 a.m. Sabrina is seen exiting out the back door of the residence and start to run,” Mortensen said. “At approximately 5:47 a.m., both smoke and fire begin to billow from the residence.”

Mortensen said detectives arrested Nulsen after spotting her about 8:59 a.m. walking down a road about 3 miles north of the fire. She was transported to the Adult Detention Center in Kingman and booked into jail on arson, criminal damage and trespassing charges.

No one was hurt in the fire that destroyed the home. Structure and contents loss is estimated at $90,000.
