Arizona Health Care Association Launches carefortheaging.org

New Workforce Site Offers Information and Opportunity

The Arizona Health Care Association (AHCA), Arizona’s premier organization representing skilled nursing and assisted living communities, has launched a unique, new resource for job seekers, career builders and workforce recruiters.

The website, carefortheaging.org, does more than a typical recruiting site. By providing deep, detailed information on careers within the elder-care system it helps sets the stage for finding a first job or advancing a personal career path. The site also provides a big assist to companies hoping to fill positions in care communities statewide.

With categories that include everything from admissions to administration, and from nursing to physical therapy, users will find information that includes average salary, required certifications, prerequisite training and opportunities for advancement. Video clips give a sneak-peek into each position while detailed descriptions help job seekers find work that aligns with their inspiration and aspirations.

“Arizona is part of a nationwide movement and one of only 14 states with a similar long term care career site,” said David Voepel, AHCA’s Executive Director. “We see many young professionals entering the workforce who want to make a profound difference in the world. Yet, they often are not aware of the opportunities that exist in the field of long term care. That’s the beauty of this site – it gives them the chance to match their passion to a truly rewarding line of work.”

By completing an online form, career explorers can be connected to training, internships and specific job opportunities. The site is also a boon to recruiters, who will use it to find and hire qualified candidates.

Voepel added, “We have an acute shortage of health care workers in Arizona. Our aging population ensures the demand will only increase. The carefortheaging.org site is our way of giving back and delivering the quality care our elders deserve.”

The Arizona Health Care Association is Arizona’s largest professional association and advocacy organization serving skilled nursing and assisted living facilities. For more information, please visit us at www.azhca.org.
