Why? I Don’t Know

Dear Editor,

The Valle Vista Property Owners Association sent out a ballot for three Volunteer Board members and five Volunteer Architectural Board members. Two of the past Volunteer Board members want to be re-elected and one will be vacant. Why? I don’t know!

This process costs $5,000 and the VPOA didn’t ask for a raise in the assessment. Why? I don’t know!

VVPOA doesn’t need seven Volunteer Board members. Five would be enough and they don’t seem to want to follow the by-laws and CL-Rs of Valle Vista.

Why? I don’t know.

The Chairman is a retired postal employee, and I know he can read, but he doesn’t want to follow the Robert’s Rules of Order at our Board meetings. Why? I don’t know. The Chairman should know about rules and regulations and if he breaks them, he should be reprimanded. Should I go on?

The Vice Chairperson doesn’t do much except say yes. Why? I don’t know.

The Secretary doesn’t read the minutes of past meetings and doesn’t even acknowledge the call to them. A person signs in to talk for 3 minutes and there is no acknowledgement to the person on the subject or discussion of his subject matter in the minutes. Why? I don’t know.

The Treasurer makes a pretty good monthly report but won’t put in what back assessments that are owed plus fines and penalties that are owed us over the past year. Between $600,00-$700,000 are owed and the Board does not go after the violators. Why? I don’t know.

The Compliance Committee of Volunteers—I’m not sure we even have a Compliance Committee—but if we do, they are not following the by-laws or CL-Rs. When our by-laws and CL-Rs of VVPOA says no businesses in residential areas, then that’s what it means.

If you don’t like it, then change the by-laws and CL-Rs. Why? I don’t know. It’s too bad that no one wants to apply for the Architectural one because Valle Vista has a lot of building going and we need their expertise in this matter. Why? I don’t know.

There might not be a VVPOA Association in the future and that means no Clubhouse, no park, no pool, etc. in the future because we won’t be able to pay.

Think about these problems I brought up and check it out for yourselves.
