Less than half of federal aid allocated

MOHAVE COUNTY – Mohave County has allocated less than half of the $6.5 million that the federal government provided in March to provide rental and utility assistance to citizens and businesses struggling during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The county has until the end of Sept. next year to complete the process.

The county has partnered with the Department of Economic Security to administer the program.

“To date, 1,129 applications have been submitted,” Mohave County Manager Sam Elters said during the Sept. 7 Board of Supervisors meeting. “$2.31 million has been disbursed.”

The fund balance stands a $3.8 million.
