Havasu woman cited for 48 counts of animal mistreatment

LAKE HAVASU CITY – A woman who hoarded dozens of cats are her home in Lake Havasu City was cited for 48 counts of cruel mistreatment of animals late last month. A police report indicated that 38 cats were removed from the garage of 61-year-old Patricia Bellamy’s residence in the 2200 block of Fremont Drive.

Fifteen more cats were located in a bedroom inside the home. Police said filthy and unsanitary living conditions were discovered throughout the residence and that the animals were not provided sufficient food or water.

One of the cats had to be euthanized due to kidney failure.
