LHUSC President under recall

LAKE HAVASU CITY – The President of the governing board of the Lake Havasu Unified School District is the target of a recall campaign. Lake Havasu City resident Siena Snedeker picked up recall petitions this week seeking the ouster of Lisa Roman.

“President Roman’s failure to engage, thoughtfully discuss and understand the science that she claims to be following has proven detrimental to our students,” said Snedeker’s recall statement. “Her unwillingness to fully open our schools (K-12 has demonstrated that she is serving teachers at the expense of students and parents.”

Roman said she’s taking heat for her positions on in-person class attendance and a racial instruction curriculum controversy. County School superintendent Mike File said at least 3,607 valid petition signatures must be collected by December 21 to force a special election.
