Annual Street Sealing Program starts Monday in Lake Havasu City

As part of the annual effort to keep roads in good condition, Lake Havasu City is starting its annual pavement preservation efforts on Monday, April 15, which is expected to last four weeks. Approximately 650,000 square yards of polymer-modified chip seal surface is placed on approximately 30 miles of streets and parking lots in various locations of the city. The chip sealing process is an efficient and cost-effective method of prolonging the useable service life of asphalt pavement.

Residents and businesses, located along streets being improved, receive a door hanger notice approximately five days in advance of the construction and again 24-hours prior to the work. The City asks that residents remove all vehicles from the streets and avoid releasing water into the street, during the time that they are scheduled for work.

Work is limited to outlying portions of the community until Monday, April 29, 2019, due to the Desert Storm Weekend Event.

Lake Havasu City asks for patience and cooperation during the street sealing process.  Motorists traveling on a street being chip sealed can expect delays and experience access restrictions. Motorists should use alternate routes whenever possible.
