Rounds fired into occupied vehicle

LAKE HAVASU CITY – Two women were not injured when the parked vehicle they occupied was blasted by a round fired from a shotgun. Lake Havasu City police said the August 16 incident occurred in the driveway in the 200 block of S. Lake Havasu Avenue.

Sergeant Tom Gray said officers learned that Danny Jones, 52, Lake Havasu, pulled his vehicle behind the one the women were in. He said Jones was angry and paranoid that the women had been following him.

Jones reportedly retrieved a shotgun from his vehicle and fired a birdshot round. “The pellets peppered the back windshield and the rear of the car,” Gray said.

Jones fled the scene but was apprehended by police in Parker. He is charged with aggravated assault and disorderly conduct.
