LAKE HAVASU CITY – A Lake Havasu City man is the latest child pornography purveyor to be sent to the Arizona Department of Corrections through a Mohave County Superior Court plea agreement.

During a Feb. 18 sentencing hearing in Kingman, Public Defender Paul Amann said it was his wife rather than law enforcement who first caught Douglas Warner viewing Child Sex Abuse Material (CSAM) on more than one occasion. Amann said his 70-year-old client sought counseling for his child infatuation in an effort to save his marriage.

The matter led to police involvement and a multi-count indictment for sexual exploitation of a minor last Sept. Several electronic devices were seized from his Mesquite Avenue home after Warner reportedly made admissions when questioned by police.

“I’m sorry,” Warner told Judge Megan McCoy. “From here on out I’ll look for additional counseling, additional help.”

“He wants to get better for himself and the rest of the world,” Amann added.

Prosecutor Leah Nelson asked the Court to order a 10-year prison term. McCoy imposed a 5-year prison sentence, followed by lifetime probation.
