LAKE HAVASU CITY – The London Bridge Days Parade made a comeback over the weekend celebrating the bridge’s 53rd year in Lake Havasu. On Saturday, October 26, locals gathered on McCulloch Blvd., from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to enjoy one of Havasu’s most popular annual occasions.

Originally built in the year 1830, it was in 1968 that the historic bridge was purchased by entrepreneur Robert P. McCulloch. The bridge is famously known for McCulloch’s choice to include granite blocks from the original bridge.

The London Bridge we see today also consists of reinforced concrete and structured clad which is also from the 1830 bridge. In October of 1971 is when the bridge was brought to Arizona, making it the staple of Lake Havasu City.

Not only is the parade the longest running local tradition in Havasu, it is also the focal point of the annual London Bridge Days celebrations.
