52nd Beard & Mustache Contest slated

LAKE HAVASU CITY – It’s time for beard and mustache wearers to strut their stuff, whether it be real or a designed masterpiece for the face. The London Bridge Beard and Mustache Contest will be hosting a competition next weekend that the whole family will enjoy

The man behind the contest is local Havasu Pioneers Radio Host and Historian, Dan Delesantos. Originally, the launch of the very first competition was held in 1971 with the relocation of the London Bridge to Lake Havasu.

The contest will have categories for both men and women. The categories for men will have nine choices ranging from mustache to beards freestyle.

Women’s will only have two categories for whiskerina realistic and whiskerina creative. Judges from all over will be there to evaluate the participant’s crafts, replicas and arts.

Freestyle and longest beard winners will win $200. Second place will win $150 while first place will take $200 home.

The overall win will be $250. The event is free to spectators and contestants can join the contest for $40. Registration can be done by visiting  https://qrco.de/bfMVrb?trackSharing.

The London Bridge Beard and Mustache contest will be on Saturday, October 19 with check-ins starting at 9 a.m. and judging beginning at 11 a.m. at Bridgewater Links Course at the London Bridge Resort. Proceeds will go to nonprofit Final Journey so they can continue to reunite terminally ill patients with their loved ones and Kids on the Colorado nonprofit that educates the youths throughout the community about all the history concerning the Colorado River.
