4th Annual Senior Games sees record number of competitors

BULLHEAD CITY – Bullhead City has proclaimed its 4th Annual Senior Games a big success. A record number of competitors age 50 and above participated in the week-long games that ended Sunday, January 19.

“Last year we had 1,100 athletes. This year we had over 1,700,” Human Services Director Jeff Tipton said. “So we had the games grow by 49%. Our goal this next year is to eclipse 2,500.”

This year’s games featured 13 events. 82 teams competed in softball.

Tipton said tennis, volleyball, kayaking and a number of other competitive events will be added next year.
