Dear Editor, As our community starts to reopen, I’ve observed how some are throwing caution to the wind. We still need to practice some social distancing and take precautions. I read recently that they have found one new case of the COVID-19 in Needles. The serious implications of how contagious this epidemic is could restart this whole situation again. Seeing several cars with different types of license plates here is scary. Most of those I saw were from California. Isn’t this state on lockdown because of the COVID-19? Fire started because suspect was bored

BULLHEAD CITY – On Friday, May 22 at about 1 a.m., police and fire crews were called to a small fire in the dirt area next to the Family Dollar Store on Commercial Way. The responding officer deployed a fire extinguisher on the flames until Bullhead City firefighters arrived on scene to completely put out the fire. A witness reported seeing a man ignite the bushes on fire and then walk away. MOHAVE COUNTY – Late Sunday afternoon, the Mohave County Health Department (MCDPH) Nursing staff was notified of four COVID-19 cases and one death.  The four confirmed cases are all in the Bullhead City service area.  The one death is a person in the Kingman service area, a previously reported case in the 70-79 age range. Traditional indoor graduation for BHC Class of 2020

BULLHEAD CITY – The Colorado River Union High School District governing board voted unanimously Wednesday night to proceed with traditional graduation ceremonies for the district’s three high schools.  Commencement at CRUHSD’s Anderson Auto Group Fieldhouse will have a variety of health and safety recommendations, including attendance restrictions. Each graduate will receive two tickets to enable social distancing, with graduates seated on the Fieldhouse floor and guests in the bleachers.  All three graduation ceremonies will be livestreamed on YouTube or another video platform for those unable to attend.
